Dr. Kagu is a legal practitioner with several years of practice at the Yobe State Judiciary where he rose through the ranks to become the Chief Magistrate before moving on to the Yobe State University where he became a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Law.He later became the Director of Centre for Research and Capacity Development in Humanitarian Studies of the University.
