This newsletter details the initiatives undertaken by the Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA), We Are NOT Weapons of War (WWoW), and Bibliothèques Sans Frontières (BSF) during the first quarter of 2025 to combat conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) and violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States.

Key activities included:

• Community Engagement: Conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) across January, February, and March 2025 in MMC and Jere LGAs to build trust, foster open communication, and implement a survivor-centered approach using the “BackUp” digital tool

• Baseline and Scoping Studies: Identifying social mobilization groups and accountability mechanisms across six local government areas

• Child Protection Coordination: Hosting a monthly coordination meeting in February 2025 at the GRA Office in Maiduguri to harmonize local partner efforts.

• Backup Translation Vetting Workshop: Holding a specialized event in March 2025 to validate project translations, ensuring linguistic quality and cultural appropriateness.
